Art Uptown is an artist owned gallery comprised of over 27 local, professional artists.  The gallery was established in 1980 and it has always represented a wide range of talented artists, many of whom have received national recognition.  The gallery is a not-for-profit business operating in a retail setting.  It is supported by its member artists who contribute their range of talents to provide the gallery's offerings.  The goal of Art Uptown is to present a dynamic exposition of its members' work, in a retail environment, within the heart of downtown Sarasota.

By submitting application to our gallery, and upon juried acceptance, you agree to not only showing high quality work, but also actively participating in efforts to support the gallery.  This includes paying a one-time application fee of $250, plus monthly dues of $90.  Each artist is provided with a designated wall space each month, and agrees to the standards set by the Gallery.  In addition to financial participation, we require each member to attend monthly meetings, support receptions and shows,  and actively engage in at least one committee.  

If you would like to pursue membership, please complete and print this application and submit it along with at least 5 photos of your recent work, including their sizes, mediums, and prices.  Include pertinent information relative to your art work such as Artist Statement, Biography, and Resumé. Please  HAND DELIVER your package during normal gallery hours to Art Uptown Gallery, 1367 Main Street, Sarasota, Florida 34236.  Our Membership Committee will review your information, jury your artwork, and contact you within approximately 30 days.  If you have any questions, please call 941-955-5409.
