Please see Call to Artists - Dog Days. ________________________________________________________________ As part of the celebration of Festival sARTee in Sarasota and Manatee counties, Art Uptown presents, Tribute to Betty Altman October 2 - 30, 2010 Art Uptown is so pleased to announce that they will be displaying several of the fabulous works by one of the founding and long time members of the Art Uptown gallery, locally renowned, Betty Altman. 
Two Children by Betty Altman Betty’s career in the arts began at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she trained in realism and specialized in portraiture and still life. Her media include oils, acrylics, mixed media, watercolors, and collage. Her work has been seen at the Centre International d’Art Contemporain in Paris, France, the Sumner School Museum in Washington, DC, and the Cork Gallery, Lincoln Center, New York City. Locally, she was selected Woman of the Year by Women Contemporary Artists of Sarasota. Betty Altman has dedicated herself to helping others reach their highest potential. Among her many, many achievements she was the Art Director and Fund Raising Exhibit Chairwoman for Glen Gallery Boys’ Club in Sarasota, and President and Vice President of the National League of American Pen Women.
